Has It Been Almost a Month?

I have no clue how to start this blog in a catchy way so I will just jump right in. It will be an adventure for all of us. Well, right now Macau is having its annual Grand Prix. The races are ran on the city streets, which I have to say makes for an exciting walk to work. The city streets are filled with passers-by watching as cars and motorcycles race by at dizzying speeds and the sounds of the race are a constant thing throughout the day. I like it. It is rather exciting. Jason, you would LOVE it! I will try to take some pics, but I am making no promises because it may just be a big blur.

Our second teaching term is now underway and I have to say that I am having a blast teaching this term. The fact that I feel like I am beginning to have a clue about what I am doing probably has something to do with that. I am now learning (I use that term loosely) Chinese from a very funny retired man. He has lots of spare time so we both benefit from this arrangement. He is very direct about telling me some of the things that I do as an American which may be offensive to the Chinese people. I REALLY appreciate this, but find myself also cringing with each new thing I learn because I can recall instances in which I have done those exact things. Fortunately the Chinese are extremely gracious and forgiving of my ignorance.

Changing topics abruptly, I think my decrease in blogging is actually the result of a good thing. Life here is beginning to feel normal. It feels like, well life, so it seems a bit strange to write an entry telling you that I went shopping today. But then I think about it and that is really what it is about. The going shopping part that is. I went shopping with someone who is not a Christian and every minute spent with this person is the reason why I am here. Maybe today there was no in-depth discussions about what Christ has done for all of us, but there was friendship. Love was there. Joy was there. Christ was there. So, today I went shopping and tomorrow I am watching a movie. Praise God!!

I am praying for all of you missionaries back home, that each time you go shopping or go to watch a movie that the love of Christ would be spoken, even if not by words. I pray that everyday you would see an new opportunity to love our Lord by serving others. I pray that you may know the blessing of having your heart break for those who do not know Christ and then doing something with that heartache. And I give thanks and praise for the wonderful ways God is using us together now and will continue to use us in the future.
